Beetlecats Komatsu Gone for Year
Friday, May 19th, 2034
The doctors have spoken and Hidekazu Komatsu of the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old reliever is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Komatsu sustained his season-ending injury during the Biloxi Bullets game yesterday at The Sand Dune. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while throwing a pitch. Today the Buzzard's Bay medical staff reported Komatsu had a partially torn ulnar collateral ligament and would be absent from the lineup for at least 8 months.
To date this year, he has registered no saves, no wins and no losses with a 6.16 ERA. Komatsu has made 15 relief appearances, worked a total of 19 innings and surrendered 17 hits. He has fanned 26, issued 27 free passes and held opposing clubs to a .236 batting average.
