Blast Off! 3 HR for Michels Friday, May 12th, 2034 It was a good day for the Biloxi Bullets and an exceptional one for Darren Michels. The 21-year-old shortstop sent three bombs out of the park to help the Bullets beat the Pacifica Shamrocks 9-5 at McCormick Field. "When you're in the zone, the game really slows down," Michels said when asked about his performance later. "I couldn't even tell you what pitches were thrown. Today feels great, but it is a long season and tomorrow is another day." For the day, he scored 3 times, drove in 6 runs and smacked 3 hits in 4 at-bats. Darren Michels hit a three-run home run off Grant Huffman in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Grant Huffman in the 3rd, flied out in the 4th, walked in the 6th and hit a solo-shot off Esteban Montes in the 8th. This year Michels has hit at a .330 clip with 19 RBIs, 6 home runs and 19 runs scored. |
