League Gives Spurrell 4-Game Suspension Monday, April 10th, 2034 Raymond Spurrell of the Wichita Wolverines has been reprimanded and given a 4-game suspension for a shouting match with the plate umpire during a recent game at Howling Park with the Topeka Predators. The Wolverines second baseman said he didn't touch the umpire, but the umpire insisted he did. "I didn't see it, I didn't feel it," Spurrell said. "I was trying everything I could not to make contact with him. The league always sides with umpires. There is no use to appeal." Posting a .192 batting average to date, Spurrell has 2 home runs and 6 RBIs. |
