Arturo Mercado put together a very solid month to take home the Cory Lidle League's top pitching honor in August. The 23-year-old reliever threw like a veteran. In 10 relief appearances he raked in no saves and 35 strikeouts in 22.2 innings as he put together his 5-0 record and 1.59 ERA. This year Mercado has made 23 relief appearances with no saves. In 48.1 innings, he has fanned 74 hitters and recorded 9 wins and 2 losses with a 2.61 ERA. |
