Beetlecats End Ramirez's Streak Thursday, August 18th, 2033 It was a doubly miserable day today for Hector Ramirez of the Marysville Monarchs, as he saw his 21-game hitting streak end and his team lose 7-3 to the Buzzard's Bay Beetlecats at Mitts Fieldhouse. The 21-year-old catcher was held hitless in 4 at-bats by the Beetlecats. "Anyone on a 21-game hitting streak is going to be a tough out," Buzzard's Bay manager Keith Irwin said later. "But we had a plan and we were careful about it, and got it done." Ramirez is currently hitting at a .299 pace with 1 home run, 7 RBIs and has scored 8 times. |
