Beckett Sparkles, Blanks DeKalb Wednesday, August 17th, 2033 Pat Beckett held the DeKalb Cornhuskers to 4 hits and fashioned a fine 9-0 shutout at The Rat Hole today. Speaking after the game, Rock River Rats manager Bruce Leah said "Beckett had everything going for him today." He changed speeds effectively, stayed down, had a lot of movement," he said. "He was masterful." Beckett rung up 7 strikeouts and surrendered 2 walks in the game. "We couldn't get anything going. He certainly had our number," DeKalb manager Eduardo Varerla told reporters.
