Mendoza Blanks Cornhuskers Tuesday, July 12th, 2033 José Mendoza of the Rock River Rats permitted 7 hits, walked 4 and fanned 5 during the 7-0 shutout win over the DeKalb Cornhuskers at The Corn Crib today. "I told him, 'You did good today,'" said Rock River manager Bruce Leah. "And I told him he'd better do good again next week." This year Mendoza has a 7-6 record with a 5.57 ERA in 20 starts.
