Bernard Rips Carson City for 5 Hits Wednesday, July 6th, 2033 Getting 5 hits in a game has always been memorable feat in baseball. In the Newark's 13-0 win over Carson City today, center fielder Jean Bernard was red-hot, scorching them for hit after hit at Cowboys Stadium. "To hit the ball consistently well, you have to relax," Bernard said afterward. "I was relaxed for the first four hits, but I have to admit, I got a little tight when I realized I had a chance for five. On the last at-bat, I was ready to swing at anything close." Jean Bernard singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, flied out in the 5th, singled in the 7th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
