Ottinger Tags Black Bears for 5 Hits
Saturday, June 11th, 2033
It was a good day at Long Island Stadium. The Long Island Ducks whipped the Fraser Valley Black Bears 18-1 and shortstop Bill Ottinger showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-6 at the plate.
"Some days, lady luck is on your side," Ottinger told BNN reporters after the game.
Ducks manager Elvis Callahan told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 21-year-old "focused and patient."
"It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Bill hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have."
Bill Ottinger doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Alex Rivas in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
For the season Ottinger is hitting .335, batted in 38 runs with 4 home runs and 42 runs scored.
