Ottinger Tags Black Bears for 5 Hits Saturday, June 11th, 2033 It was a good day at Long Island Stadium. The Long Island Ducks whipped the Fraser Valley Black Bears 18-1 and shortstop Bill Ottinger showed off a hot bat, going 5-for-6 at the plate. "Some days, lady luck is on your side," Ottinger told BNN reporters after the game. Ducks manager Elvis Callahan told the beat writers otherwise, calling the 21-year-old "focused and patient." "It's not luck," he said. "He has a solid approach to hitting. Bill hits to all fields. The more solid at-bats you put together, the more success you're going to have." Bill Ottinger doubled in the 1st, hit a two-run double in the 2nd, singled in the 3rd, hit an RBI double in the 4th, hit a two-run home run off Alex Rivas in the 5th, grounded out in the 6th and walked in the 8th.
