Red-Hot Bastien Scorches Jail Birds Thursday, April 14th, 2033 It was high-fives all around for Taylor Bastien at Cobras Ballpark today. He got them from his teammates and he got them at the plate during an outstanding hitting performance against the Newark Jail Birds. Bastien smashed 5 hits in 5 at-bats on his monster day, leading his club to a 24-10 win. "Taylor was hitting everything," said Shamrocks manager Joe Leftwich. "It really was a special game for him." In the opposing dugout, Jail Birds manager Johan Gillberry told BNN beat writers that Bastien "ambushed" the club. "Obviously we didn't have much success against him, but we'll have another chance," he said. "Hopefully, Bastien oversleeps next time." Taylor Bastien singled in the 1st, singled in the 4th, hit a three-run home run off Botol Soverosa in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, singled in the 7th and walked in the 8th.
