Pérez Blisters Reno Sunday, September 17th, 2034 A jubilant Juan Pérez joined the postgame press conference at House of Pain today to offer some unusual words of encouragement -- for the Reno Raiders pitching staff he had just vanquished. "It may not have looked like it," said the Bowling Green Racers center fielder, "but I saw some awful good pitches today. If luck hadn't been on my side it might have turned out a lot different." That would not have been the conclusion of anyone who saw his dominant 5-for-5 hitting performance, which led the Racers to a 9-5 win. "He made it look easy," said Chris Brading, manager of the Raiders. "We never figured out what to do with him. Obviously." Juan Pérez singled in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit a two-run triple in the 6th, walked in the 8th and hit an RBI single in the 9th.
