Slade's 25-Game Hit Streak Ends
Friday, September 8th, 2034
Antioch right fielder Tucker Slade knew his hitting streak would end sooner or later. He just would have preferred later. Slade went 0-for-5 today in the Coal Miners 7-1 victory over the Reno Raiders, snapping his 25-game hit streak.

"Heck yeah I'm disappointed it's over," he said later. "My financial advisor is disappointed too. When you're riding a streak like that, everybody wants a piece of you. Nobody wants the guy who went 0-for-5."

In the current season, Slade has put up a .319 batting average with 125 hits, 10 home runs, 50 runs batted in and scored 68 runs.
