Slade's Hit Streak Soars to 25 Games

Antioch lost to the Reno Rockets 5-3 at Red Rocket Field today, but Tucker Slade kept his consecutive-game hitting streak alive with 2 hits. The Coal Miners right fielder has now delivered hits in 25 straight games.
"Tucker has a nice streak going, but the scoreboard tells the important story today," Antioch manager Hervé Barthélémy told reporters after the game. "We lost, no matter how many hits anyone had." Tucker Slade struck out in the 1st, walked in the 3rd, singled in the 4th, grounded out in the 6th and singled in the 9th.
For the season Slade has produced 125 hits in 387 at-bats for a .323 average with 10 home runs and gotten on base at a .398 clip.
