20 Games in a Row for Cashmann
Wednesday, August 9th, 2034
The Bronx Bombers fell to the Minneapolis Freeze in Bronx Ballpark today, even as 24-year-old first baseman Ken Cashmann upped his consecutive-game hitting streak to 20 games. Cashmann finished with 1 hit in 4 at-bats, but could not stop the Bombers from dropping the 10-9 decision.
"Yeah, I kept my streak going, but it would have been better to come away with a win," said Cashmann. Ken Cashmann grounded out in the 2nd, flied out in the 5th, walked in a run in the 7th, flied out in the 8th and hit a two-run single in the 9th.
This year Cashmann is batting .324 with 4 home runs and 30 RBIs. In 80 games he has scored 48 times.
