Malecela Wins DKL Honor Monday, June 5th, 2034 27-year-old Kitaw Malecela made a few Calgary headlines during this past week as the rookie catcher proved he could compete at the plate with his high-school idols. He captured the attention of fans, journalists and Darryl Kile League officials last week and today took home Player of the Week honors for his effort. He cracked 4 hits in 6 at-bats to put up a .667 average. Malecela collected 3 home runs, 8 RBIs and scored 3 runs. So far this season, Malecela has recorded a .244 batting average with 29 hits, 9 home runs, 28 RBIs, 20 runs scored and a .378 OBP. |
