Friday, May 26th, 2034
Sometimes it just isn't enough.
Ignacio Ochoa had an outstanding day at Golden Fleece Park for the Vancouver Canadians today, ripping three home runs. Nonetheless, the Canadians fell to the Astoria Argonauts, 9-8.
Ochoa had a feast at the plate, pounding everything thrown his way. The 23-year-old third baseman banged out 3 hits in 4 at-bats, scored 4 times and batted in 4 runs. Despite his sensational performance, the Canadians were not able to hold off the Argonauts.
"Baseball is a funny game," Ochoa said in the post-game interview, "You can't dwell on the reasons for the loss. I'm sure there will be days when I go 0-for-4 and we win. These things tend to even out."
Ignacio Ochoa hit a solo-shot off Shumei Bailey in the 1st, flied out in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Ryouhei Kondo in the 5th, walked in the 7th and hit a two-run home run off Jordan Gradilla in the 8th.
This season Ochoa has hit at a .270 clip and produced 20 RBI, 3 home runs and 15 runs.
