Marrero Red-Hot, DKL Player of the Week Monday, May 1st, 2034 It can be difficult for a young player to step out of the shadows and assert himself in the Darryl Kile League, but last week José Marrero of the Peoria Caterpillars reminded everyone just why he's here as he threw up numbers that made him an easy selection for Player of the Week. Marrero rocked opposing pitching for a .435 average (10-for-23), 2 home runs and 9 RBIs to come away with the award. This season Marrero is batting .341 with 30 hits, 2 home runs, 13 RBIs, 7 walks, .389 OBP and has scored 15 runs. He has played in 21 games. |
