Ikeda Pitches Coronado to Shutout Victory
Wednesday, April 19th, 2034
Shoichi Ikeda led the Coronado Phantoms to a 3-0 shutout victory over the Fort Worth Cats at LaGrave Field today.
"My pitching coach told me before the game just to bear down and focus," Ikeda recalled later. "He said no one was going to hit me if I'm throwing a good breaking ball with good location."
Ikeda yielded 5 hits and had 2 strikeouts and 4 walks in the standout performance.
"I thought he put the ball where he wanted to," Fort Worth manager Walt Dobson said. "And that's just about the whole secret to pitching."
