Minneapolis Blanked by Bates
Wednesday, April 12th, 2034
In a seemingly effortless performance, Al Bates of the Joplin Fireballs shot down the Minneapolis Freeze 9-0 on a 7-hit shutout.
"Al was just locating so well and using his pitches," Joplin manager Chance Jackson said later. "He wasn't leaving anything over the plate."
Bates recorded 3 strikeouts and 1 walk in a strong outing.
"When he needed to make pitches, he elevated his game," Minneapolis manager John Justin said in his postgame comments to BNN. "We couldn't get a key hit off him."
