Freeze Lose Wager for Season
Sunday, October 9th, 2033
The doctors have spoken and Reece Wager of the Minneapolis Freeze didn't like what he heard. The 26-year-old catcher is almost certainly gone for the rest of the year and depending on his progress could miss some of next season as well. Wager sustained his season-ending injury during the Detroit Death Stars game yesterday at The Ice Box. He had to leave the game because he hurt himself while stealing a base. Today the Minneapolis medical staff reported Wager had an oblique strain and would be absent from the lineup for at least 3 weeks.
This year Wager is batting .301 with 78 hits and 24 home runs. He has scored 53 times and has batted in 70 runs.
