Baristas End Coyle's Streak Thursday, September 22nd, 2033 It was the best of both worlds for the Silver Lake Baristas today at Ashton Gate, as they defeated the Astoria Argonauts 2-1 and also snapped Turner Coyle's 20-game hitting streak. The 23-year-old Astoria right fielder failed to get a hit in 4 at-bats. "Nothing personal against Coyle, we just wanted to win the game," said Baristas skipper José Alonzo. "We did a great job keeping him off-balance and guessing." When asked by reporters about his streak coming to an end, Coyle frowned and said, "I won't lie and say that I'm not disappointed about it, but I'd feel much better if we had won." Thus far this year Coyle has hit .308 with 12 home runs and 59 RBIs. |
