Baristas End Bernard's Streak Tuesday, September 20th, 2033 Thomas Bernard, catcher for the Astoria Argonauts, gave it a good try, but his time chasing history came to an end when he went hitless in 4 tries against the Silver Lake Baristas today. Not only did the Baristas break his 20-game hitting streak, they also beat Astoria by the score of 4-3. "Now that the streak has ended, I can admit I'll breathe a bit easier the next time I step up to bat," Bernard said, speaking with the media after the game. "It was tough because I put a little pressure on myself. Now that it's over, I will definitely be a little bit looser at the plate." Bernard is hitting .422 this season with 5 home runs, 20 RBIs and 17 runs scored. He has 38 hits in 90 at-bats. |
