Veeck Earns NAL's Best Pitcher Honor Thursday, September 1st, 2033 Any time a rookie makes a splash on the scene, it's got to be great for his career potential. Just ask Carl Veeck, who put together a stellar month out of the pen. The Silver Lake Baristas reliever, 26, kept the opposition off balance all month as he held them to a .189 average and walked away with the Nick Adenhart League Pitcher of the Month award for August. Veeck posted a 4-1 mark and a 1.49 ERA in no relief appearances. In 36.1 innings, he had no saves, 24 strikeouts, and 14 walks. To date this year Veeck has won 11 and lost 8 with a 3.93 ERA, no saves and 110 strikeouts in no relief appearances. |
