Walsh Toys with Joplin Wednesday, August 31st, 2033 The Joplin Fireballs met their match today in Omaha hurler Michael Walsh. He kept them guessing the whole game and spun a 2-hit shutout. "He just worked us over," Joplin skipper Clement Snow said. "He probably didn't even need a shower after the game -- he barely worked up a sweat." In the 2-0 victory, Walsh whiffed 3 and gave up 3 walks. To date this year Walsh has won 10 and lost 14 with a 5.70 ERA, no saves and 156 strikeouts in no relief appearances.
