Carlos Hernández Wallops 3 Homers for Mustangs Tuesday, August 16th, 2033 Today was a special one for Carlos Hernández of the Billings Mustangs as he slammed three home runs in the 11-8 win over the Bronx Bombers. "Lately, I've been uppercutting the ball too much," he said to sportswriters after the game. "I would hit it hard, but they just went sky high and stayed in the ballpark. No big long outs for me in this game. I leveled out my swing and connected on the sweet spot. I knew they were gone the minute I hit 'em." The Billings left fielder collected 3 hits in 4 at-bats, drove in 5, and scored 3 runs in the contest at Bronx Ballpark. Carlos Hernández grounded out in the 2nd, hit a two-run home run off Vincenzo Rizzoli in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Javier Franco in the 6th and hit a two-run home run off Bartolo Alicpa in the 8th. For the season Hernández has produced 31 hits in 128 at-bats for a .242 average with 9 home runs and gotten on base at a .300 clip. |
