5-Hit Blitz by Ortega Sunday, July 17th, 2033 The 5th time was not the charm for Carlos Ortega today. The third baseman for the Scranton Escape hit the milestone today at Hell Stadium, but it was the Fairfield Flash that salvaged a 13-9 victory. Ortega finished with a 5-for-5 line at the plate, and it still wasn't enough. "He was not an easy out, that's for sure," Fairfield manager Gary Altman said to the press in the postgame interview. "I'm just glad we held everybody else in check and got the win." Ortega declined to speak to reporters at length following the game, saying only that "no loss is a good one." Carlos Ortega singled in the 2nd, singled in the 4th, hit a two-run single in the 5th, hit a two-run single in the 7th and hit a three-run home run off Eduardo Fuentez in the 9th.
