Escape Halt Mitchell's Hit Streak
Sunday, July 3rd, 2033
After 23 games, Jeff Mitchell had his hitting streak ended abruptly today by the Scranton Escape at Hell Stadium. The Omaha Raptors first baseman failed to get a hit in 1 at-bat, bringing his tenure in the national spotlight to a halt.

Despite the tough day at the plate, Mitchell seemed unconcerned after the game, talking instead about the Raptors taking a 8-3 victory from the Escape.

"It was good while it lasted," Mitchell said. "If it had to end, I'm glad it ended with a victory."

This season Mitchell has delivered 73 hits in 194 at-bats for a .376 average with 9 home runs. He is getting on base at a .437 clip and his totals also include 34 RBIs and 35 runs scored. This year Mitchell has played in 47 games.
