Longbottom Tosses Shutout for Coronado
Wednesday, June 29th, 2033
Taylor Longbottom hurled a fine game for the Coronado Phantoms at Phantoms Field today, holding the Scranton Escape to 3 hits in a shutout win.
"When he started out, his command wasn't that good, but he's a tough guy," Coronado manager Jeffrey Graham said. "The more pitches he throws, the better his command is."
The right-hander had 8 strikeouts and 3 walks in the 14-0 victory.
"An outstanding job," Scranton manager Julián Cancil said. "We couldn't get anything going. Every time we got a hit, he got out of the jam. He pitched a terrific game."
Thus far this season Longbottom has compiled a 4-6 record, made 5 relief appearances with 3 saves, hurling 64 innings and striking out 57. He has held the opposition to a .211 batting average with a 2.39 ERA.
