Mitchell Extends Hit Streak to 20 Games

Jeff Mitchell has been on a tear for several weeks, and his hitting streak just keeps getting longer. The 24-year-old Omaha Raptors first baseman extended his streak today to 20 games, going 1-for-3 as Omaha got the best of the Calgary Kodiaks at Foothills Stadium, 1-0.
"Jeff has been playing real well lately and we're proud of him," Raptors manager Jim Fernández said. Jeff Mitchell grounded out in the 1st, singled in the 3rd, walked in the 5th and grounded out in the 7th.
So far this season Mitchell is batting .378 with 9 home runs, 31 RBIs and 33 runs scored. He has 68 hits in 180 at-bats, 17 walks and a .437 OBP. Mitchell has played in 43 games.
