Argueta Silences Joplin Friday, June 17th, 2033 It was a smooth and solid performance by Fred Argueta of the Omaha Raptors against the Joplin Fireballs today. He crafted a fine 6-hitter to blank the Fireballs 8-0. He chalked up 9 strikeouts and 1 walk along the way. "It certainly makes my job easy when my pitcher tosses a shutout," said Omaha skipper Jim Fernández. "I can just sit back, watch and enjoy." For the season Argueta has made no relief appearances, recorded no saves, compiled a 6-5 won-lost mark and a 3.19 ERA. In pitching 96 innings, he has totaled 84 strikeouts and 32 walks.
