5-Hit Blitz by Detroit's Martinez
Thursday, May 26th, 2033
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Tony Martinez of the Detroit Death Stars had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate today in the 10-9 win over the Reno Raiders at The Death Star.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 23-year-old third baseman told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Tony Martinez hit an RBI double in the 1st, hit an RBI single in the 3rd, hit a solo-shot off Maurice Bignold in the 6th, flied out in the 7th, doubled in the 9th and singled in the 10th.
So far this year Martinez has 9 home runs and a .318 batting average.
