Raptors, Nakano Blank Freeze
Tuesday, May 24th, 2033
Omaha Raptors hurler Mitsuzuka Nakano was stingy with runs in his latest outing against the Minneapolis Freeze, shutting them out 7-0 on 7 hits.
"Mitsuzuka was very aggressive tonight," Omaha manager Jim Fernández said. "He threw everything he had with a lot of confidence."
Through 9 innings, Nakano tallied 9 strikeouts and allowed 6 walks.
"He was throwing strikes with all his pitches and mixing it up well," losing manager John Justin said. "Nakano has a sneaky fastball, and whatever that off-speed pitch was, it was keeping our timing off."
His stats sheet for the year shows Nakano has managed to hold opponents to a .292 average in no relief appearances, while putting up 3-1 record with 42 strikeouts and 25 walks in 53 innings. He has a 5.43 ERA with no saves.
