5-for-6 Day for Sanders Thursday, May 5th, 2033 Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Doug Sanders of the Bowling Green Racers had one of those moments when he went 5-for-6 at the plate today in the 15-8 win over the Pasadena Bumblebees at Top of the Hill. "I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 20-year-old left fielder told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years." Doug Sanders singled in the 1st, flied out in the 4th, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI single in the 6th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and doubled in the 8th.
