So Cal-San Diego Trade: Kuram for Kuram Saturday, December 16th, 2034 You can't always get what you want, but sometimes you find a deal anyway. The Baseball News Network is reporting that So Cal and San Diego have made a swap with 35-year-old LHP Dave Bartlett, 32-year-old C Amad Kuram, 28-year-old 2B Rico Madrigal and 27-year-old minor league LF Tony Maciel being shipped to the Hops and in return the Republic would get $1 in cash. So Cal general manager Mike Brouillette said the two sides were close to a blockbuster trade before agreeing upon a smaller scale transaction. "This is just a bit of housekeeping compared to what we wanted to do," he said. "I won't name names, but the potential deal we were close to making would have certainly grabbed some headlines." A source inside the So Cal organization said the two sides might not be done dealing, and another transaction could be in the works. Kuram has batted .255 for his career with 759 hits, 109 doubles, 1 triple, 159 home runs, and 477 RBIs. |
