Armstrong Gets Award for Relief Work
Friday, November 24th, 2034
He's a veteran presence in the South Carolina Bombers bullpen and now Ed Armstrong can say he's a 2034 award winner.

The bullpen ace was today named the Thurman Munson League Rolaids Relief Man Award winner.

"When you're 38 years old, your main objective is to just stay healthy and stay productive. I guess I did that this year," he said.

The award was won on the strength of a season that featured 43 saves in 80 relief appearances, with 96 strikeouts in 86.2 innings and a record of 5-4 to go with his 1.35 ERA.

Joe Kearns of the Kansas City Tornadoes finished second in voting, while Soleh Purbacaraka of the Oklahoma City Prowlers finished third.
