New England's Jeff Mitchell Injured Thursday, October 19th, 2034 Earlier today, New England first baseman Jeff Mitchell had to leave the game against Havana because of an injury. Team officials are reporting that he has a fractured foot and will miss 4 weeks of play. Mitchell was hurt making a defensive play and was unable to continue playing. He will be evaluated this afternoon by team physicians. In 147 games this season Mitchell has compiled a .265 batting average with 155 hits and 31 home runs. He has also scored 72 times and knocked in 99 runs. |
