Injury Sidelines John Curnew for Season
Thursday, August 31st, 2034
San Diego fans will be disappointed to learn that John Curnew suffered radial nerve compression while throwing a pitch in today's game. After the doctor informed the San Diego Hops manager that Curnew was expected to miss 8-9 months, the manager told the press that the rest of the team would have to step up their play until the starting pitcher could return. "You can't make excuses in baseball, because there's always a game tomorrow," said the team's skipper.

Curnew has started 26 times this year, pitched 177.2 innings, fanned 88 batters and walked 77. His current record is 4 wins and 9 losses with a 5.17 ERA.
