Injury Setback for Hornets Rivera
Tuesday, August 29th, 2034
"It's worse than we thought." That was the news from the Hornets clubhouse today as it was learned that shortstop Jesus Rivera will be out for an added 5 days as a result of a recent injury. His treatment for a herniated disc will have to be extended. Initially it didn't seem the injury was a major concern, but the Eureka shortstop told team trainers of some discomfort yesterday morning, and upon examination it was determined to be a more serious injury. "We'd rather take this thing slowly and make sure Jesus gets back onto the field healthy," said the team's head trainer.
Rivera is batting at a .236 pace this season, picking up 39 hits in 165 at-bats with 3 home runs, 16 RBIs and 23 runs scored.
