Oakes Wins RCL Best Player Award Monday, July 31st, 2034 John Oakes is respected by most Havana Stogies fans for his no-frills style of play. The 30-year-old second baseman went about his business with vigor last week to grab the Roberto Clemente League Player of the Week honors. He compiled a .650 average (13-for-20) with 2 home runs, 9 RBIs and 7 runs scored. This season Oakes is batting .343 with 98 hits, 9 home runs, 39 RBIs, .380 OBP and has scored 40 runs. |
