Díaz Guns Down San Francisco
Saturday, May 6th, 2034
Jesús Díaz subdued the San Francisco Earthquakes, 5-0, pitching a 3-hit gem for the Brooklyn Black Knights at Golden Gate Park.
"He was kind of teasing them with his off-speed stuff, and his fastball was moving everywhere," Brooklyn skipper German Burdier said afterward.
Díaz registered 8 strikeouts and issued no walks in his superb performance.
"We just didn't swing the bats very well. Or else he just pitched good, whichever way you want to look at it," said San Francisco manager Joe Ward after the defeat.
Thus far this season, Díaz has tossed 45.2 innings in 6 starts, fanned 28 batters, walked 8 and put up a 1.38 ERA with 3 wins and no losses.
