Goldberg Befuddles Vancouver
Friday, April 28th, 2034
Before the game, Ryan Goldberg said he liked his chances. His instincts proved to be right. In a superb outing at "The Fort" at B.C. Place, the Prowlers pitcher whitewashed the Vancouver Pioneers 7-0.
"I just had a feeling it was going to be my day," Goldberg said in the clubhouse afterward. "My control was awesome. I could throw my fastball even when I was behind in the count."
The Oklahoma City starter held Vancouver scoreless, giving up 6 hits while registering 9 strikeouts and issuing 1 walk.
"We didn't have very many good at-bats," Pioneers manager Dorian McNeal said in his postgame interview. "When that happens, you usually lose."
This season Goldberg has worked 42 innings with 40 strikeouts en route to a 2-0 record and a 1.71 ERA.
