John Oakes to Miss 3 Weeks
Wednesday, April 19th, 2034
Dealing with injuries is part of the game, and now John Oakes of the Stogies knows this firsthand. He was injured against the Hawaii Islanders while running the bases. Because of a strained posterior cruciate ligament, the Havana second baseman is expected to miss 3 weeks. Oakes was a little upset, but understands it comes with the territory. "Baseball can be a contact sport. You try to be careful, but no matter how careful you are, injuries happen."

This year Oakes is hitting .289 with 2 home runs.
