Big Day for Stevens: Swats 5 Hits
Wednesday, August 3rd, 2033
Some moments become linked with a particular player's career forever. Howard Stevens of the Quebec Armada had one of those moments when he went 5-for-5 at the plate today in the 8-6 win over the Vancouver Pioneers at "The Fort" at B.C. Place.
"I won't forget this anytime soon, and I don't expect it to happen too often," the 24-year-old catcher told reporters in the postgame interview. "I'll be happy to just get a hit or two every day. Enough to hang around the league a while longer. Like 10, maybe 15 more years."
Howard Stevens singled in the 1st, hit a two-run single in the 3rd, singled in the 5th, hit an RBI double in the 7th and hit a two-run double in the 8th.
This season Stevens has hit at a .340 clip with 55 RBIs, 5 home runs and 38 runs scored. He has played in 82 games.
