Dallas, Jacksonville Close Deal Friday, July 29th, 2033 After prolonged negotiations Dallas agreed to ship 18-year-old minor league RHP Fidel Betancourt and 21-year-old minor league LHP Marco Cruz to Jacksonville for 28-year-old LF Gart Rook and $2,000,000 in cash. The deal is awaiting confirmation from the league office but neither team expects any hang-ups. "It took longer than expected," said one GM, "but we knew that the deal was going to happen." So far on the season Rook is hitting .236 with 8 home runs, 31 RBIs and 48 runs scored. He has 68 hits and played in 82 games. |
