Ouch! Akio Ishii Shelved by Injury Sunday, June 5th, 2033 Vancouver fans held their breath as Akio Ishii left yesterday's Earthquakes-Pioneers contest with an injury. After the game, the team's medical staff said that the 30-year-old right fielder had suffered a torn ligament in his thumb while making a defensive play. It's estimated that he will be out 3 weeks. Ishii is hitting .300 this year with 8 home runs and 31 RBIs. He also has an OBP of .338, 7 walks and scored 33 times. |
