Lara Launches 3 HR for Mustangs Sunday, May 1st, 2033 Mile High Mustangs left fielder Héctor Lara sensed he was going to have a good day at the plate, but he still might have underestimated it a little. Prior to the start of today's contest with the Dallas Texans, Lara told teammates he was sure he would hit a home run. He did -- three times. "During batting practice I really had my swing down pat," he recalled. "I felt some thunder in the lumber." The big day from Lara pushed the Mustangs past the Texans, 10-5. To go along with the homers, he collected 4 RBIs and scored 4 runs. "I was seeing good, feeling good and swinging good," Lara told reporters after the game. Héctor Lara hit a two-run home run off Dan Edwards in the 2nd, hit a solo-shot off Nabil bin Baha in the 4th, hit a solo-shot off Nabil bin Baha in the 6th and walked in the 8th. Currently Lara is hitting .254 and has collected 8 home runs, 17 RBIs and scored 12 times, while playing in 17 games. |
