Luis Araya tested positive for using an illegal substance and now will suffer the consequences. League officials announced today that the San Francisco starting pitcher will be suspended 80 games for violating the league drug policy. "I made a mistake, and I want to apologize to my family, my teammates, the fans and the Earthquakes organization. I know what I did was wrong and now I will pay the penalty," Araya said. The Earthquakes issued a statement saying the team was "disappointed" to learn of Araya's positive test. |
