Rhinos Win Sweepstakes for RP McLaughlin

The Rubber City Rhinos have called a press conference later today to announce the signing of reliever Robert McLaughlin to a 2-year, $3,800,000 contract.
Both McLaughlin and the Rhinos are said to be very pleased to come to this agreement.
During his career McLaughlin has appeared in 319 games, logging 1065 innings with 924 strikeouts. He has carved out a 4.63 ERA with 62 wins and 66 losses and posted 24 saves.

Hawaii Islanders, Aces Agree to Trade

A trade between Hawaii and Las Vegas was made official this morning. The Islanders have sent 35-year-old LHP Joe Good, 21-year-old minor league CF Omar Mora, 21-year-old minor league LHP Nelson Cardona, 20-year-old minor league 2B Alex Diaz and 20-year-old minor league RHP Victor Dominguez to the Aces in exchange for 29-year-old RHP Amaui Mahi'ai.
Lifetime Mahi'ai has a 18-20 won-lost record and a 3.48 ERA with 84 saves. He has made 195 games, logged 266 innings and fanned 351 batters.

ABL News: Rule 5 Draft

ADULT BASEBALL LEAGUE's Rule 5 draft will be held today. General managers should ensure that they have made all necessary roster moves prior to the start of the draft!
Rule 5 Draft Rules
--Only teams with empty slots on their expanded rosters can select a player in the draft.
--Players with more than 3 years of professional experience are eligible to be selected, unless they are protected on a team's expanded roster.
--Players drafted at the age of 18 or younger are protected for one additional year. They are eligible if they have more than 4 years of professional service.
--Each selected player must be kept on the selecting team's major league roster for the entire year, or be returned to his original team.
--Even if a selected player is subsequently traded, he must remain on that team's major league roster for the entire year.
