Patriots Prevail, 7-5, Over San Marin
|
Despite a fine performance by catcher Alan Mansy, the San Marin Mustangs suffered a 7-5 loss to the Francis Lewis Patriots. Mansy was 3 for 4 with a double and 2 singles, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 2. Dave Peterson nailed down his 10th save. The 5th-place Patriots raised their record to 21-23.
Er Zong's at-bat in the bottom of the third inning was a big one for Francis Lewis. Coming to bat with one out, the bases loaded and Francis Lewis leading 2-1, the center fielder reached on an error by the 3B, driving in 2 runs.
"Baseball is about momentum," said Zong, "and we feel we've got it in our favor after that win."
