Holman Excels, But Poly Win
The Riverside Poly had to overcome a big game from Downsview right fielder Karl Holman to leave Apollos Ballpark with a 14-13 victory. Holman went 4-5 with a double, 3 singles, and a walk, while scoring 2 runs and driving in 3. B.J. Dyke earned the save, his 13th. The Poly, at 23-19, have now won 4 straight.

Had Zayne Eaton not delivered a key base hit in the bottom of the eighth, the outcome might have been different. Instead, with two down and a runner on 2nd, Eaton hit a run-scoring single. That made the score 14-13, in favor of the Poly.

"It was a nice win for our side today," said Poly manager Gary Corwin. "Not perfect, but we'll take it."
